Who we are?

Pioneers in polyurethane foam recycling

The purman® project was founded by Hungarian experts with significant experience in the manufacturing and utilization of PU. The company’s founders primarily engage in manufacturing and implementation activities closely related to the cold chain.

With our decades of experience, we firsthand see how useful rigid PU is in manufacturing and always regret its disposal in landfills. Therefore, a few years ago, we established the purman® brand, whose primary goal is the mechanical processing and recycling of rigid polyurethane foams.

Due to our activities, we were awarded the Innovator of the Year by the Heves County Chamber of Commerce in 2023.

Our journey

The first phase of the project greatly benefited from the support of the Department of Polymer Technology at Budapest University of Technology and Economics, and during our research, we regularly utilize AI for analyzing the results.

The successful development phase began in 2022, and by 2024 we managed to find a manufacturing method that not only revolutionizes the processing of rigid PU foams but also led to the development of recycled products previously unproduced and unavailable in the recycled product market.

Thanks to the results of our development, starting from 2024, we are working on scaling up the manufacturing technology to industrial levels, enabling the large-scale application of the patent pending process by purman®.

Our story

Problem to Solve

2019-2021

Utilizing used, first-production rigid PU and PIR, as well as other polyurethane-based products. Investigating the resulting PC and manufacturing scrap waste.

Project Preparation

2022

Examination of scrap, resource planning and allocation, investment planning, analysis of SWOT charts, market research in the field of PU waste streams.

Project Start

2022

In 2022, we launched our R&D project. Together with BME (Budapest University of Technology and Economics), we started the search for appropriate materials, examined potential technologies, and aligned them with our resources. We conducted technological analyses and began examining the first recycled PU test pieces.

Project First Phase

2023

For the suitable raw materials, primarily consisting of PU, PIR, and their derivatives, we conducted hundreds of experiments. We examined the physical and chemical properties of the recycled materials and prepared them for industrial manufacturability through regular brainstorming sessions and project tracking.

Critical Steps

2023

To ensure manufacturability, we produced hundreds of sample products. On these samples, we continuously modified and researched manufacturing methods, material composition, and the quantity and quality of added ingredients. The development was ongoing, focusing not only on the product itself but also on the production line.

Project Results

2024

Thanks to ongoing research and development, by 2024 marketable products and their applications began to take shape. Consequently, we initiated the patenting process for these processes and products

Future...

2025-2030

Thanks to continuous research and development, by 2024, marketable products and their range of applications began to emerge. As a result, we initiated the patenting of these processes and products.
